State Bank of India, the largest bank in India, conducts the recruitment of Junior Associate (JA) posts in Clerical cadre. The vacancy for these posts is released by the bank almost every year because of the staff requirements.
SBI Clerk Salary 2024 (Junior Associate)
Pay Scale
Newly appointed candidates are given following pay scale:
17900-1000/3-20900-1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550-1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920.
Salary is calculated on the basis of this scale.
Basic Pay:
The starting Basic Pay for newly appointed candidate is Ra. 19900 (Rs. 17900.00 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates. The last basic pay of this post is Rs. 47920 per month. After adding allowances to this basic pay, total salary is calculated.
SBI Clerk Salary structure (Junior Associate CSS) for new appointment:
- Total Salary in Metro city like Mumbai: Rs. 37000 per month
- Salary in Class Y cities : Around Rs. 34000
- Salary in Class Z cities : Around Rs. 35500.
Deductions: Around 2000 are deducted from total Salary.
The total salary (emoluments) of an SBI Clerical Cadre employee in starting will be around Rs. 37000.00 per month inclusive of D.A. and other allowances in a metro city like Mumbai and Delhi.
This salary is at the current rate and also two advance increments for newly recruited graduate junior associates are given..
Promotion:
Higher level promotion may depend on qualifying internal departmental exams and other factors. If a candidate qualify internal exams, then he/she gets promoted to upper post and gets upper pay scale and increased salary.
Allowances:
Allowances may vary depending upon the place of posting. The allowances are DA, HRA, Special Allowance, TA etc.
They will be eligible for reimbursement of various perquisites, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Pension under New Pension Scheme (Defined Contribution Benefit Scheme), Medical, Leave fare and other facilities etc.
Junior Agricultural Associates gets Rs. 490.00 p.m. extra as Special pay.
Probation period:
Minimum 6 months. Candidates have to complete 15 prescribed e-lessons during this period.
Job Profile and Promotions:
Clerk candidates can reach to officer level posts JMGS Scale 1 by qualifying internal exams and interview after three years of service. Clerk can reach up to General Manager level. Clerks work includes work of Single window operator, Cashier, addressing concern of customer, making transactions, opening accounts etc.
